Your rendering of my concerto far surpasses anything a composer might hope for. Congratulations on your very great work.

I have always espoused that every tubist represents every other tubist in the world. Oystein Baadsvik represents us on the highest artistic level as both performer and entertainer. He has earned our support and admiration.

"Among the items were a number of unusual CDs (including Kalevi Aho's Contrabassoon and Tuba Concertos, BIS records), a testament to humankind's ability to master the unlikeliest of instruments. Hearing these CDs provided the thrill of listening to fantastically accomplished practitioners of the esoteric. The tuba player here is Oystein Baadsvik, a Norwegian virtuoso who has carved out a career as a soloist."

A ruthlessly skillful Øystein Baadsvik masters his large instrument down to the smallest atom. An unforgettable CD.

"An outstanding recital. Baadsvik's playing combines sweetness with strength, intensity with perception."

From this Norwegian artist, the tuba gains an enormously melodic flexibility and a vast spectrum of colors.

Øystein Baadsvik is one of the very few globe-trotting tubists that sound every bit as amazing in person as he does on his recordings. This latest serving of tuba and piano music shows another facet of this world-class performer.

Norwegian tuba player Øystein Baadsvik came to notice internationally when he won two prizes at the Concours International d’Execution Musicale in Geneva in 1991. Musically these performances are of a very high order... sensitively disciplined and intelligent

Lyrical. Baadsvik is very technically secure. An impressive performance.
