Price: 49.00000 USD
Short description: Daniel Nelson's tuba concerto Metallephonic was written for the Nordic Chamber Orchestra and Baadsvik. Anders Högstedt has made an excellent instrumentation approved by the composer.
Description:
Daniel Nelson's tuba concerto Metallephonic was written for the Nordic Chamber Orchestra and Baadsvik. According to composer Nelson, who was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, the idea to the music was born when he was listening to Beethoven on headphones. Through Beethoven's music some strange interference emerged. It was simply Daniels neighbor playing Back to Black by ACDC loudly on his stereo. It was this peculiar mix of styles and sounds that gave Mr Nelson the inspiration to write the tuba concerto Metallephonic. Anders Högstedt has made an excellent instrumentation approved by the composer.

Duration: ca 16 min

The score is 57 pages.

Price: 15.00000 USD
Short description: A collection of the best classical Christmas songs. Øystein Baadsvik with Trondheim Symphony Orchestra and the female Choir Cantus.
Description:
I have always had a weakness for Christmas records, and I have a large collection of them at home. Some records are well suited to putting up Christmas decorations, some to the baking of ginger biscuits, whilst others create the great Christ- mas atmosphere. Some of the songs are simply indispensable; Christmas wouldn’t be the same without them. Having released eight CDs containing everything from the classics to contemporary music and jazz, I thought it was high time to record some of the best Christmas songs myself – and, with the help of skilled arrangers, I have ventured to make my own versions.
As a tuba player one soon learns to live with people’s ‘oompah-oompah’ prejudices, but rarely have these been challenged more clearly than by this very disc. Never before has there been a Christmas record with symphony orchestra, women’s choir and tuba. So why, exactly, did we chose these forces? Few ensembles can give the music as much variety and uplift as a symphony orchestra and, to- gether with the glittering voices of the Cantus choir, I hope to make my contribu- tion to the very special Christmas atmosphere.

-Øystein Baadsvik
